You should see your faces…
Because Taylor Swift’s childhood BFF Abigail Anderson Berard is pregnant with her and husband Charles Berard’s first child. And naturally, Abigail channeled Taylor for the special announcement.
In an homage to “But Daddy I Love Him” off The Tortured Poets Department, Abigail captioned her July 24 Instagram post, “I’m having his babyyy…”
But while the next line of Taylor’s song says, “No, I’m not”—yes, Abigail is. After all, her growing baby bump is out and proud in her post, which features the 34-year-old snacking on some Cheez-Its.
A blue heart in the caption also acts, in true Taylor fashion, as a possible clue to the gender of the couple’s baby to be.
And among the well wishes from those in Taylor’s celeb squad—including comments from Kelleigh Teller and Lily Aldridge—was a sweet note from Charles, who wrote on his wife’s post, “Never been happier to be tagged in a post.”
Abigail and Charles’ news comes almost two years after they tied the knot in September 2022. And while it hasn't been confirmed whether Taylor attended the nuptials, the Grammy winner did act as a bridesmaid in Abigail’s wedding to Matt Lucier in 2017, before their divorce four years later.
But the truth is, Abigail and Taylor’s friendship dates back far longer. As Swifties could tell you, the two met back in high school, their friendship immortalized in the song “Fifteen.”
"You sit in class next to a redhead named Abigail / And soon enough you're best friends,” Taylor sings in the track off 2008’s Fearless. “Laughing at the other girls / Who think they're so cool / We'll be out of here as soon as we can.”
And in true teen fashion, both girls experienced heartbreaks that only brought them closer.
"Back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday / But I realized some bigger dreams of mine,” Taylor sings in a later verse. “And Abigail gave everything she had / To a boy who changed his mind / And we both cried.”
The pair, however, have come a long way since then and their friendship remains as strong as ever.
In fact, when Abigail celebrated her 33rd birthday last year, Taylor was by her side in another sweet homage to their beginnings.
Under an adorable picture of the two laughing on the floor together, Abigail captioned the May 2023 post, “’Cause when you’re… 33.”
